    est un groupe de heavy metal britannique formé en 1975 au Royaume-Uni Royaume-Uni par le bassiste Steve Harris et son ami d'enfance Dave Murray. Ils furent les pionniers de ce qui fut appelé la New Wave Of British Heavy Metal (souvent abrégé en NWOBHM) avec les groupes Saxon, Def Leppard, Tygers of Pantang, etc. L'« ancienne vague » était représentée par Black Sabbath, Judas Priest et Motörhead. Iron Maiden a recueilli au cours de son histoire l'un des plus grands succès commerciaux du heavy metal, vendant plus de 100 millions d'albums.

    Leur longévité, leurs compositions puissantes et mélodiques, la diversité de leur discographie et surtout leur qualité de précurseurs du genre en ont fait l'un des groupes phares de la scène heavy metal.

    Le nom du groupe se réfère à un instrument de torture médiéval, la vierge de fer, Eddie, sortie de l'imagination du dessinateur Derek Riggs, et que l'on peut voir sur une pochette commettant un attentat contre Thatcher, ou encore en train d'arracher une affiche la représentant, bien que les membres du groupe aient toujours nié que les dessins représentassent le premier ministre britannique. et a été sujet de controverses, de même que leur mascotte,

    À cause de ses pochettes et de son image, Iron Maiden fut fréquemment accusé d'être composé de satanistes. La réponse étant bien évidemment négative, lors des interviews, les membres du groupe n'hésitant souvent pas à tourner en dérision cette question récurrente.

    est un groupe anglais Royaume-Uni de doom metal/stoner metal.
    Le groupe a été fondé au début des années 1990 par Lee Dorrian, ex-chanteur[1] du groupe Napalm Death, Garry Jennings du groupe Acid Reign et par Mark Griffiths qui était roadie pour le groupe Carcass. Lee Dorrian venait à l'époque de quitter Napalm Death, car il n'appréciait pas le virage Death metal que prenait le groupe. Son envie de fonder Cathedral est venue quand il a rencontré Garry Jennings et Mark Griffiths et qu'ils aient parlés de leur gout commun pour les groupes de Doom metal comme Candlemass, Dream Death, Pentagram, Trouble, et Witchfinder General.

    est un groupe de death metal / grindcore britannique Royaume-Uni formé à Liverpool en 1985 par Jeff Walker et Bill Steer. Entre legoregrind de leurs deux premiers albums, Reek of Putrefaction et Symphonies of Sickness, et le « death rock » de Swansong, le groupe a su faire évoluer sa musique en gardant toujours un haut niveau technique et humoristique.

    est un groupe de Death metal brutal formé à Saint-Étienne France en mai 1998 à la suite de diverses rencontres en concert.

    Principalement influencé par les groupes comme Cannibal Corpse et Marduk, Benighted est, à ses débuts, un mélange de black et de Death. Il se revendique désormais comme un groupe de Brutal Deathcore
    Benighted cherche des compositions efficaces et originales, c'est pour cela que leurs chansons parlent souvent de psychologie.

    Le premier album auto-produit est rapidement enregistré, Benighted, avec 7 titres reflétant le groupe.

    est un groupe néerlandais Pays-Bas de metal symphonique avec des influences gothic metal créé en 1996.
    le guitariste Robert Westerholt et la chanteuse Sharon den Adel, alors amis de longue date, fondent le groupe, qui sera par la suite rejoint par Jeroen van Veenguitare basse), Martijn Westerholt (claviers) et, après plusieurs autres percussionnistes dont le passage a été éphémère, Ivar de Graaf. Ils se sont vite vus offrir un contrat par DSFA Records, qui leur a permis de travailler sur leur premier album.
