  est un groupe de heavy metal allemand qui commença en 1971, mais est en fait une évolution du groupe Band X formé en 1968 par le chanteur Udo Dirkschneider et par le guitariste Michael Wagener. Le groupe s'est dissout et reformé plusieurs fois, et vient d'annoncer une reformation pour 2009.

  est un groupe de metal suédois qui s'est formé à Stockholm en mai 1983. Le groupe eut une large influence et il est considéré comme l'un des précurseurs du black metal et le fondateur du Viking metal. Bathory était à l'origine le projet d'un adolescent de 17 ans, Quorthon. L'appellation du groupe provient du nom de la Comtesse Bathory.

  est un groupe de Folk/Melodic death metal suisse
  

  Formé en 2002 par Chrigel Glanzmann comme studio-project au début, le groupe décida de jouer du metal traditionnel additionné par du mystique au travers de la musique folk celtique. Dans plusieurs chansons, Eluveitie utilise une forme reconstituée de gaulois helvète, un langage aujourd'hui éteint qu'utilisaient dans l'Antiquité les clans celtes d'Helvétie. Eluveitie signifie « Je suis l'helvète » en ancien gaulois.

  Ils sont actuellement 8 personnes dans le groupe.

  A la suite de la sortie de leur EP Vên en octobre 2003, ils signent en 2004 un contrat avec Fear Dark Records, qui distribue donc leur nouvel album, Spirit. En 2008, Eluveitie signe chez Nuclear Blast et sort ainsi (le 15 février 2008) son deuxième album, Slania.

  Mi juillet 2008, les jumeaux Rafi et Sevan quittent le groupe pour des raisons personnelles, ils sont maintenant remplacés par Päde Kistler et Kay Brem.

  C'est le 17 avril 2009 que sort le 3è album studio d'Eluveitie nommé Evocation I - The Arcane Dominion un album entièrement acoustique sous le label de Nuclear Blast. Après cet album, Eluveitie annonce son retour à un metal folk avec Everything Remains album prévu pour le 19 février 2010.

  est un groupe grunge américain fondé par Kurt Cobain (chanteur et guitariste) et Krist Novoselic (bassiste) à Aberdeen (Washington) en 1987. Le groupe a connu une succession de batteurs, le dernier et plus important d'entre eux ayant été Dave Grohl, qui a rejoint le groupe en 1990.

  Avec le single phare Smells Like Teen Spirit tiré de son second album, Nevermind (1991), Nirvana devint populaire et mit en lumière un sous-genre du rock alternatif appelé le « grunge », ce qui profita à d'autres groupes de SeattleAlice In Chains, Pearl Jam et Soundgarden qui gagnèrent également en popularité. Ceci fit du rock alternatif le genre musical dominant sur les radios et chaines de télévision musicales aux États-Unis durant la première moitié des années 1990. Kurt Cobain fut alors considéré comme le « porte-parole de toute une génération » et Nirvana comme le groupe vedette de la « Génération X ». Cobain n'était pas à l'aise avec toute cette attention et focalisa son attention sur la musique du groupe, pensant que le message du groupe et sa vision artistique avaient été mal interprétés par le public. Il défia alors l'audience du groupe avec son troisième album studio : In Utero (1993). comme

  La courte existence de Nirvana prit fin avec la mort de Kurt Cobain en avril 1994, mais la popularité du groupe perdurera dans les années qui suivirent. En 2002, You Know You're Right, une démo inachevée du groupe datant de la dernière session d'enregistrement, se plaça en tête des listes d'écoute des radios partout dans le monde.

  Depuis ses débuts, le groupe a vendu plus de 50 millions de disques à travers le monde, dont 25 millions aux seuls États-Unis. Nirvana est souvent considéré comme l'un des groupes les plus populaires et les plus importants des dernières années. Petit clin d'oeil à king of binouz.
