  est un groupe de metal brésilien  fondé par Max et Igor Cavalera en 1984, à Belo Horizonte. Les autres membres sont Derrick Green (guitare et voix), Jean Dolabella (batterie), Paulo Jr. (basse) et d'Andreas Kisser (guitare). À la base un groupe de death metal, Sepultura a peu à peu évolué en thrash metal, puis en un dérivé plus hardcore ensuite.

  est un groupe de power metal britannique formé à Londres en 1999. Mais le groupe qualifie sa musique d'extreme power metal pour souligner le fait qu'ils jouent une forme de power metal plus extrême et plus rapide que la moyenne des groupes du genre. Leur jeu est, en effet, caractérisé par la présence systématique de solo de guitare à très grande vitesse, d'effets sonores rappelant les jeux vidéo et de paroles ayant trait à la culture fantasy. Leur musique donne une atmosphère très épique du fait du son de la guitare et par la rapidité des guitaristes, qui détiennent une grande maitrise de leurs instruments. Bon, J'en connais qui vont grincer des dents, car comme eux je n'aime pas trop la voix du chanteur, mais il faut avouer qu'il ont une maitrise de leur instrument qui doit le respect.
