est un groupe de Death Métal américain   venant de Tampa, Floride et fondé en 1983 par Trey Azagthoth. Leur musique est un mélange, assez unique dans son genre, de complexité et de brutalité.C'est l'un des groupes fondateurs du genre avec "Possessed" et "Death".

On peut remarquer l'utilisation de guitares 7 cordes ce qui est original en death metal car la plupart des groupes ont des 6 cordes accordées très bas, la 7 cordes restant dans les esprits un instrument de shreddeur ou associé soit au Prog Metal soit au Nu Metal.

Une autre originalité a pu se ressentir au niveau du jeu de batterie de Pete Sandoval qui apporta une touche d'originalité à ce groupe novateur. En effet, les rythmes frappés par celle-çi sont plutôt des rythmes employés jusqu'alors en grindcore. C'est une originalité car avant eux les rythmes de la batterie étaient plus ceux du thrash.
