    est un groupe de Death Metal fondé en février 1989 à Birmingham au Royaume-Uni Royaume-Uni par Paul Adams (basse), Peter Rew (guitares), Darren Brookes (guitares) and MarkBarney Greenway (voix).
    La 1ère démo du groupe fut très vite remarquée par le label allemand Nuclear Blast qui publia un 1er album dès 1990, puis les suivants. Barney quitta ensuite Benediction pour rejoindre Napalm Death.
    Benediction a donné de nombreux concerts à travers le monde au cours de sa longue carrière. Ainsi l’affiche fut partagée avec Bolt Thrower, Nocturnus, Massacra, Dismember et bien d’autres dont Death avec qui se noua une relation d’amitié. Chuck Schuldiner invita ainsi Benediction à jouer en compagnie de Death.
    En 2008 le groupe est toujours actif, ses ventes de disques cumulées dépassent les 200 000 exemplaires.
